Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a well-known Indian actress best known for her parts in the film Hum Aapke Koun. In the late 80s the actress began her acting career, and was well-known for the character Tezaab, in which she starred alongside veteran actor Anil Kapooor. In the following film, she was a part of Aamir as part of Dil. Early on, as a child growing up in the middle class of Mumbai, she learned to dance. At the age of 16 she started acting, and suffered for several years as the majority of her early films failed. In the end, she was successful in Indian film and climbed to the top. After her marriage, she took some time away from performing before returning. Recenty, she had an important role as a character in Gulaab Gang. The film focused on the struggles of women in India. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which eight she won. Padma Shri is the fourth most prestigious civilian award in India. The award was also given to her for her efforts in the social sector.
